Suggest transparency without filling every space.

Suggest what is there and beyond

Use your practice area or a spare sheet to try the method before working on a favourite illustration.

Identify which lines belong to the frame and which describe the glazing. Give the frame a clear edge before filling the panes.

Try a very pale blue-grey or a light reflected colour. Allow substantial white space to remain.

A narrow uncoloured shape can suggest a bright reflection. Keep its direction consistent with the rest of the drawing.

Use a lighter touch over visible interior shapes. Do not bury cockpit or cabin lines under a dark fill.

Darkening every pane can make glazing look solid. Test a lighter approach before adding another layer.
