Indian’s heritage material presents the early Scout in deep red. A complete 1920 factory finish schedule and original paint formula have not yet been verified.

In the photographs
The 1920 references show red to deep burgundy tanks, mudguards and cycle parts with fine pale or gold-coloured lining. The 1922 comparison looks brighter red. Indian’s heritage material supports red as an early Scout reference but lighting, condition and finish history prevent these photographs from proving a precise 1920 paint formula.
