The 1957 register includes Skyline Blue with Birch White, Pepper Red with Black, Birch White with Black and Black with Pepper Red. Extra-cost choices include Metallic Midnight Blue with Birch White and the Nugget Gold Spring Special.

The period register also lists panel and mudguard variations. The museum bike resembles the documented gold and white direction; its paint history is unverified.
In the photographs
The museum XL is gold with a white tank panel, not white and black. Nugget Gold is recorded as a 1957 Spring Special colour. The outdoor 1957 bike shows a red upper tank with black bodywork. A separate black and white motorcycle is a 1960 XLCH. These images illustrate different schemes and models without proving original paint on each survivor.

In the coloured example
The turquoise and cream example is an artistic interpretation. Skyline Blue with Birch White is recorded for 1957, but that does not authenticate the drawing's turquoise hue or component layout. The museum's gold and white scheme provides a different documented period direction.
